A resident at Blandford Grange care home in Blandford Forum has celebrated his 55th wedding anniversary with a special meal at the home.
On Thursday 29th June, Michael Shave enjoyed a meal and celebration with his wife Marion, along with relatives to mark the milestone occasion.
The couple were married on the 29th June 1962 in Wallingford in Oxfordshire. Michael was 23-years-old and in the Navy and Marion was 17 and working as a Laboratory assistant for Maltsters. They went on to have two daughters, Helen and Susan.
Michael and Marion moved from Wallingford to Abbingdon, then to Yeovil and onto Gillingham to be close to Susan and their Grandchildren as they could. Michael moved to Blandford Grange in June and Marion comes to see Michael as often as she can.
Home Manager Debbie Davies said “It was wonderful to celebrate this special occasion with Michael and Marion and I am so pleased we were able to organise a special meal for them.
“They have enjoyed so many happy years together and hope they enjoy many more. On behalf of everyone at our home we send our warmest congratulations.”
