If you spotted a large group of rabbits circling Ninesprings last week then your eyes aren’t deceiving you.
Taking inspiration from their pets at the care home, residents and staff at Grovelands came up with a ‘hare-raising’ scheme to boost their amenities fund. Dressed in their best bunny ears (and full outfits for some) the Grovelands’ staff and residents took part in a sponsored rabbit run and boosted their amenities fund by around £200.
This fund goes towards organising trips out, entertainment and events for the residents living in the 60 bed home.
Speaking on the activity, Manager, Ross Isbell said: “We had so much fun taking part in our sponsored rabbit run. The residents loved being out and about in their bunny ears and happily waved to everyone they met on route. We were blessed with a beautiful spring day and it meant that everyone could get some fresh air and exercise while having fun.”
Grovelands is situated on Grove Avenue in Yeovil and provides residential and specialist dementia care. The home was recently announced as winners of the ‘Outstanding Care Team’ award at the 2017 Care Awards.
